چکیده

Open access to private, user deployed, access points is a promising candidate for provisioning of high data rates in public wireless access systems. This deployment strategy should especially be an efficient method to serve indoor users in cities with a significant penetration of fixed broadband networks. We estimate the infrastructure cost for different mixes of operator deployed (HSDPA macro cells and 802.11g WLAN) and user deployed access points. The network is dimensioned according to a stochastic (log-normally distributed) model for traffic density. Results indicate that, with the modelling and assumptions used, user deployed access points lower the infrastructure cost for traffic densities above 10Mbps/km (10 times the traffic of typical private speech users in a city center). Moreover, only a few percent of the subscribers need to install open access points to cover a significant fraction of the total traffic terminated indoors.

An Energy Efficient Clustering Method using Bat Algorithm and Mobile Sink in Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of sensor nodes with limited energy. Energy efficiency is an important issue in WSNs as the sensor nodes are deployed in rugged and non-care areas and consume a lot of energy to send data to the central station or sink if they want to communicate directly with the sink. Recently, the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol is employed as a low-power, low-cost, and low rat...

Energy Efficient Mobility Management for the Macrocell – Femtocell LTE Network

The demand for higher data rates and improved energy-efficiency have motivated the deployment of short-range, low-cost, consumer-deployed cellular access points, referred to as femtocells [1]. Femtocells are consumer-deployed cellular access points, which interconnect standard user equipment (UE) to the mobile operator network via the end user’s broadband access backhaul. Although femtocells ty...

Design an Efficient Community-based Message Forwarding Method in Mobile Social Networks

Mobile social networks (MSNs) are a special type of Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) in which mobile devices communicate opportunistically to each other. One of the most challenging issues in Mobile Social Networks (MSNs) is to design an efficient message forwarding scheme that has a high performance in terms of delivery ratio, latency and communication cost. There are two different approaches fo...

Probabilistic Integrated Planning of Primary and Secondary Distribution Networks based on a Hybrid Heuristic and GA Approach

The integrated planning of distribution system reveals a complex and non-linear problem being integrated with integer and discontinues variables. Due to these technical and modeling complexities, many researchers tend to optimize the primary and secondary distribution networks individually which depreciates the accuracy of the results. Accordingly, the integrated planning of these networks is p...

Improving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
